Ive fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally got a proper camera!!!!!!! *jumps around* She's a she and I've blessed her as Rowena
Ive been messing around with her when ive had some time by myself and im loving what she can do. Ive taken some test shots as well on each setting and ive not been disappointed yet! To the professionals shes probably the same as a nokia camera phone, but to me this is a massive step in my hobby because i am seriously debating whether this could actually turn into a career for me, being my own business. Fair enough right i am qualified to work with animals and that was my life choice, that was it, that was my life sorted, boom. But although i do want to make a difference in this world and save endangered species and go to different continents and discover new things, imagine what i could do with a camera in my hand at the same time? The animals in their own habitat, tiny tiny creatures in the Amazonian rainforest, lions hunting antelope on the plains of Africa, Giant Leather-Back Turtles coming ashore in the Maldives to breed and lay eggs, undiscovered sea creatures miles beneath the Earth's surface in the Indian Ocean, Polar bears and cubs diving in the icey waters of the Arctic for food ..... the possibilities are endless!
I think this is it, i really do, ive found it! Ive not felt this excited in ages about anything and this has got me so motivated and set to get out and start doing shit! I've been brought up around art and photography because of my dad. He is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer and has just finished writing a book, so of course i spent most of my childhood around him in his office room watching him and what he does. He taught me to draw and everything my art teacher failed in doing and it was because of him that i got an A in my art exam and because of him that i was awarded young artist of the year award. When i sent him some of the pictures id taken on my phone his reply was really encouraging. He told me i had real potential and i have a good hand at cameras and capturing certain atmospheres & from this it has given my more courage to carry on doing what im doing, because i believe his word, he knows what he's on about.
Anyway, i have my first shoot (i suppose you could call it that) tomorrow at the rock climbing centre in Birmingham. Adam and Ian are wanting to get some shots of them climbing and bouldering so im looking forwards to that! My first mini project ;D if i prove that i can do it hopefully more and more people will be asking me. My main project at the moment is Macro Eye shots. I'm currently on the search for someone with usual eyes or eye colour to let me take pictures of their irises.
Anyway! ill upload some test shots now
love Charlotte x
